In the electioneering of the 2022 APC primaries, precisely on 22 May, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr (aka Suki) solicited the support of the stakeholders of Biase APC. In that euphoria, the stakeholders assured Suki of a second term mandate.
Earlier on, Biase had anointed him the STANDARD. Suki had hoped that his first term performance will earn him a second mandate from the people of Biase. But the good governance-seeking Biase people had looked at the crystal ball and saw high performance in Ekpenyong.
The reason for Biase open cheque for Ekpenyong is that an exceptional child deserves double promotion. True, Ekpenyong has lived up to his nickname, THE STANDARD.
It was Governor Bassey Otu, then as a Senator, who communalised the dividend of the Senate for his constituents. Before him, it was a cult-like affair. Simply put, Prince Otu shared the power of the Senate with the people of Cross River South Senatorial District. Consequently, he became the Empowerment Senator; yes, SWEET PRINCE.
The hegemonic truncation of Prince's mandate ushered in the pre-Prince era senatorial conduct of impunity and immunity. But the emergence of Suki renewed the people's waning hope.
It is logical to say that in Cross River South, Ekpenyong is the number one aid to the Governor. A good man's real followers are those who continue his legacy. It's like having Prince Otu as Governor and another Prince Otu as Senator. No wonder the season of SWEETNESS is standardised in a renewed hope agenda!
The people of Nigeria owe Cross River Southern Senatorial District a BIG THANK YOU. They did not only elect the youngest Senator, they also elected one of the best Senators.
Indeed, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr has cushioned the effects of the 76 oil wells which were unconscionably denied Cross River State. As the chairman of the NDDC, and working hand in hand with the Governor, he has led that august development commission to Cross River State, especially Southern Cross River State. The visibility of NDDC projects in Cross River Southern Senatorial District is clear, even to the blind.
No doubt that the people of Cross River Southern Senatorial District are disposed and poised to return Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr. Who dares retire the youngest and the best! Suki has positively responded to the Nigerian Youths Trouble. The youths have actually doubled the trouble posed by the older generation that they condemned. So far, the youths have been using fellow youths for politics, instead of using politics for the youths.
Youthfulness without youthism is like a running horse without a rider. Stampede is the result! Suki blends the strength of the youths with the wisdom of the elders. This is called ESSENCIST GRADUALISM. He is like water; he has no enemies, only brotherly opponents.
Little surprise that Biase people have a rendezvous with Suki. Surely, Suki won't disappoint his Biase people. Presently, he'll engage the people and leaders of Biase; and the bond would be strengthened.
