Deac Maurice Ogar, Chairman of Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, CRS Chapter, led a delegation to the National Assembly in Abuja for a courtesy visit to Hon. Onun Dr. Emil Inyang, Member of the House of Representatives for Akamkpa/Biase Constituency.


During his speech, the Chairman introduced the Fellowship and highlighted some of its key programs, including Restorative Justice, Angel's Tree, and inmates' counseling programs. He also brought to the House member's attention the plaguing issue of inmates who are overdue for release, citing the example of a man who has been in prison for 32 years.


Furthermore, the Chairman informed the House member of the Fellowship's efforts to alleviate the hardships faced by inmates and expressed appreciation for the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his interest in the welfare of inmates.


The Chairman sought collaboration and support from the House member to enhance the Fellowship's work. In response, Hon. Dr. Emil Inyang expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him and pledged to support the Fellowship's efforts.


The House member was honored with an award for humanitarian services and decorated with a Prison Fellowship CRS muffler as a patron.
