Again, if the youths know that they are the ‘natural leaders-elect’ of tomorrow, then, with youthist essencist gradualism, they will demand their command today. And the youths’ command is Great Nation” – The Good Nigerian.
THE GOOD NIGERIAN HOUSE, for obvious reasons, has elected YOUTHISM (the philosophy of youth-centredness) as the driver of the Nigerian state-ship. Accordingly, YOUTHISM is adopted as the main philosophy of THE GOOD NIGERIAN HOUSE. Therefore, youthist pedagogy shall be the main vehicle of the mission and to the vision of THE GOOD NIGERIAN HOUSE.
By ‘Great Nation’, The Good Nigerian means a nation of peace and progress (prosperity). It follows that the current state of Nigeria as the capital of world poverty indicates that Nigerian youths do not know the true meaning of youth. In fact, wherever and whenever the nation is poor, the youths are ignorant of themselves.
The basis of human civilization is seuth gnoth (‘Man, Know Thyself’). This is so because man is the centre of the universe, having been created in the image and likeness of God. In other words, if man knows himself, then he will be like God, and his home will be like God’s Home.
What man is to the universe, is what the youth is to man. The youth is the prototype of man. This is the kernel of Youthism! Indeed, more than ninety percent of human civilizations (positive changes) is the brain-child of the youths. Yet, considering who the real youth is, the balanced mind, the remaining percentage could still be credited to the youthist mind.
The knowledge that The Good Nigerian refers to is deeper than what the greater number of youths consider as knowledge. It is the knowledge that both Socrates (470 – 399 BC) and Plato (c. 470 – 340’s BC) equated with virtue. Yes, it is the knowledge whose lack can make us mad to the extent that we are ready to kill our Saviour. As knowledgeable as the crucifiers of Christ were, he prayed to God to forgive them “For they ‘don’t know’ what they do” (Luke 23:34 KJV).
The youth must be balanced in line with the five Zikist canons, namely; spiritual, social, mental, economic, and political balances. Besides, he or she must possess Lerner’s 5 C’s, namely, Competence, Confidence, Connection, Compassion/Care, and Character.
Our youths needs to know that the youth represents the New (Change, Light, Fire, Energy, Power, Hope, Solution, etc.). Because the youth is the New, he is victorious over the Old in the eternal battle between the New and the Old. Accordingly, the youth in age who does not possess the mind of the youth is termed Old-New, while the old in age who has the mind of the youth is considered New-Old.
Evidently, the bulk of the Nigerian youths are Old-New. Hence, to every backwardness of the old regime, the new regime doubles it. In the words of the great Renascent African, Bob Marley, “Give them an inch, they take a yard; give them a yard, they take a mile. Once a man (the old) and twice a child (the new); and everything is a far and wild (poverty), well it seems like total destruction is the only solution”.
Indeed, Nigeria’s only solution is the total destruction of its youth’s ignorance of themselves.
